Let The Fun and Learning Begin!
The Happy Learners clinic is equipped with purposeful spaces designed to support play, learning, and development.
Our clinic features versatile and thoughtfully designed spaces to support your child’s therapy journey. We have sensory gyms for movement and exploration, functional spaces for fine and gross motor activities, and adaptable areas for play, learning, and skill-building. The clinic is our hub for connection, learning, and growth, where children and families can feel supported as they work towards their goals in a welcoming and fun environment.
Clinic OT Sessions
Our Occupational Therapists provide sessions for children and teens at the clinic from 8:00am to 5:30pm on weekdays. With seven versatile therapy spaces, sessions are tailored to suit each child’s age, goals, and needs, creating opportunities for meaningful and engaging experiences. Each standard session runs for 50 minutes face-to-face, and our OTs balance their time between clinic and mobile appointments. We’ve created a fun and functional environment where we hope families feel supported and children excited to participate, making OT something they look forward to.

More Info
Where is the clinic located?
The clinic is located in Springwood, on Pacific Highway, between the Springwood Police Station and The Mazda dealership. Look for our Happy Learners sign up the top of the pylon out the front.
Is the clinic accessible for wheelchairs and strollers/prams?
Yes! We have an onsite lift. We’re on the first floor, and there is plenty of onsite parking available for families, including a disabled parking spot for accessibility.
Is there a waiting list for clinic sessions?
Not always! During the morning or early afternoon often have open availability depending on your family’s schedule. After school times are often quite busy and may not be as available all the time. If you are unable to get to the clinic during the day, check out our ‘mobile session‘ options for more information about how we can support children at school, kindy or home too!
It’s always best to reach out, sometimes the wait isn’t as long as you might think!
What happens at a clinic session?
Each session is tailored to your child’s individual needs. Our occupational therapists use play-based, sensory, and functional activities and more to work on motor skills, emotional regulation, independence, and engagement in everyday tasks.
Sessions may involve movement-based activities, fine motor work, sensory exploration, play, practical skill-building, coaching and cognitive approaches, and parent involvement.
What funding options do you accept?
We support children under:
NDIS (Self-Managed, Plan-Managed & NDIA-managed participants for therapeutic supports AND Self-Managed & Plan-Managed for Early Intervention Participants)
Private paying families
Medicare plans (such as Chronic Disease Management Plans with a GP referral)
Private health insurance (check with your provider for OT coverage)
How do I book clinic sessions?
You can enquire about our availability for clinic sessions by enquiring via phone, email, or via our contact form.
What is Paediatric Occupational Therapy?
Paediatric occupational therapy (OT) helps children develop the skills they need to participate in everyday activities such as playing, learning, self-care, and socialising. OT can support children with motor skills, emotional regulation, sensory processing, independence, executive functioning and more so they can engage more confidently in their daily routines and occupations.
How do I know if my child needs OT?
Your child may benefit from OT if they experience difficulties with:
Fine motor skills (e.g., handwriting, using cutlery, buttoning clothes)
Gross motor skills (e.g., coordination, balance, strength)
Sensory processing (e.g., sensitivity to sounds/textures, seeking movement)
Emotional regulation (e.g., managing frustration, big emotions)
Social skills (e.g., turn-taking, peer interactions)
Attention & focus (e.g., staying on task, following instructions)
Daily routines & self-care (e.g., dressing, toileting, feeding)
Do I need a referral to see an OT?
No, a referral is not required to access occupational therapy. However, if you are using Medicare, you will require a plan from your GP. If you are using NDIS you will need to provide relevant details such as plan manager information for billing and plan goals to our team.
What ages do you see for OT?
Our team sees children and teens from ages 2 to 17 years.
Do you work with children who don’t have a diagnosis?
Yes! Your child does not need a formal diagnosis to benefit from OT. We focus on their strengths and challenges to support their development and independence, regardless of diagnosis.
