Setting Children Up for Success: Kindy Screeners
Our kindy screeners provide an invaluable opportunity to identify and support developmental needs in the early years. Designed for kindy classrooms, small groups, or individual students, these screeners help build a strong foundation for learning and development.
Early Childhood Education and Care centres can access this service through exploring the Kindy Uplift program funding from the government.
Why are Kindy Screeners Important?
Kindy screeners are a proactive way to identify children who may benefit from additional support in areas like fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, social interactions, or school readiness. Early identification allows for timely intervention, equipping children with the tools they need to succeed as they transition into formal schooling.
We have worked with Kindy’s to provide kindy programs, environmental screeners and staff and parent education. Centres should explore ‘Kindy Uplift’ funding to explore how OT screeners, education sessions or workshops could support them in the Early Childhood Education and Care Setting.

Who can access kindy screeners?
Generally, this service option is for kindy’s where they are looking to have multiple children screened for developmental delays or difficulties and recommendation for supports in the kindy environment. However, if parents are concerned about their child’s development they are welcome to reach out for an OT assessment to explore any concerns and get some support and initial recommendations in place early.

Depending on where the year’s scheduling is up to for our team, we may be able to organise for this to start within 3-6 months. Planning is an important step to make sure the service we provide is impactful.
